Pheasants Planted In Coos County As Sportsmen Push Bounties
State game commission plants 276 pheasants in Coos County with 200 near Myrtle Point and the rest near Coquille. Birds arrived from the Eugene game farm and were released along North Fork Catching Creek Arago Bridge and South York near Powers and Broadbent. The Coos County Game Protective League met in city hall with E C Barker presiding to discuss deer season open May to September and raising bounties on predators. A five member committee will meet sheepmen and grange leaders to study predator control while a state game department visit is planned to review sport and commercial fishing balance. The next league meeting is set for March 11 in Bandon.
