Teachers of district 41 led county in annual salary requests at the December board meeting seeking increases for 1968 69. Base pay for a new bachelor degree instructor would rise from 5800 to 6900 with 10 year progression to 9660. Masters degree start 7452 rising to 11040 in 13th year. College leaders secure four year contract and budget moves
Brookline Sonik at Southwestern Oregon Community College in Coos Bay received a new four year contract at an equal $20 000 salary during a December board meeting. The board also re elected budget committee members and named Sam Dement to replace Elton Schweder. Bay Motors of Coos Bay won a $1 235 32 bid for a new Chevrolet mobile for the college with other bids from Murphy Motors and Tower Motors. Equipment contracts for home economics were awarded to Thift's Schroeders and Purkey's Coos Bay.
