Messiah White Shrine Holds First Ceremonial for Class of Candidates

The Coos County Messiah White Shrine staged its inaugural ceremonial for a class of candidates at the Masonic hall in Coquille. Union High School Board Meets Tonight on Education Report

The Myrtle Point Herald will publish Babson's Business and Financial Forecast for 1955 in its December 30 issue. Babson's past forecasts have been 86 percent accurate, with his weekly releases read by over 400 newspapers and 20,000 corporate clients.

4 H Achievement Program Honors Arago Broadbent Myrtle Point

Sixteen 4-H clubs in Arago Broadbent and Myrtle Point were honored at an achievement program in the Myrtle Point Union High School library. Two nine year awards for 38 projects went to Miss Arlene Barzee and Robert Stevens. Stevens’ award was received by his sister Geranna who has seven years in 4-H. Stevens attends Willamette University. Leader pins were presented by Walt Schroeder on behalf of First National and United States National banks to several leaders and members listed.

And There Was Light Christmas Pageant At First Presbyterian

The First Presbyterian Sunday school invites parents and friends to a Christmas pageant this Sunday evening December 19 at 7 o clock. Pupils from tiny tots to high school perform with junior choir directed by Mrs Blis serd and novel stage settings. A special offering will be taken and Christmas banks returned. A Christmas treat awaits all after the program. Church activities call for Sunday school 10 am worship 11 am and evening service 7 45 pm with midweek prayer at 7 45 pm.

Methodists to Present Church School Xmas Program Sunday Evening

The First Methodist church schedules a Christmas program at 7 PM Sunday presented by the church school with direction from Mrs Gareth Goddard and leaders Mrs Milton Schroeder Mrs Arthur Henry and Mrs Kay Petersen. Earlier the day includes a baptism and church membership reception with Rev Edward McClurg speaking on The Way of Life and special Christmas numbers by the senior and junior choirs.

The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints invites the public to a Christmas program on Tuesday December 21 at 8 pm. Myrtle Point considers high school facility expansion at citizens meeting

Representatives from Myrtle Point and surrounding communities met at city hall with Myrtle Point Lions and various civic groups to discuss expanding the high school facilities. Speakers noted the current site has grown beyond its 1925 capacity, with enrollments rising from 335 in 1962 to an estimated 418 in 1966, urging a united district effort for needed expansion.
