Myrtle Point to Receive State Highway Fund Allocation
The City of Myrtle Point will get 13641.58 as its share of Oregon's semi annual State Highway Fund distribution. The total 96865406.31 will be allocated among 229 cities based on population and statutory rules for January to June 1971. Funds come from vehicle registration and license fees gasoline and use fuel taxes motor carrier fees and penalties from weight statutes.

General American Transportation Co. of San Francisco has won a $115,980 bid to supply a two million gallon steel reservoir tank for Myrtle Point. The bid followed a Monday City Council meeting as part of a $320,000 water improvement program. Other bidders were Pacific Tank & Construction Co., Portland. Pittsburgh-Des Moines Beef Co., Bellevue, Washington. and Chicago Bridge and Iron Co.
