The Hi landers drum corps from Eugene Oregon join Coos county 48th annual fair parade in Myrtle Point. Sam Dement president and Leland Barklow vice president will sit out this year. A Centennial guest marshal leads the parade followed by the Rodeo Queen Shari Haga and her princesses Linda Howe and Shirley Zeigler. The 40 member Gold Beach Women’s Drum and Bubble corps also performs along with various floats and groups including Gamma Lambda Beta Sigma Phi Myrtle Grange Methodist Youth Fellowship Baltimore Colony with an all German band and Royal Neighbors of America.

Danette Wagner 11, daughter of Dan and Mrs Wagner proprietors of the Myrtle Hotel, was knocked unconscious and suffered a broken nose when her horse bolt ed near Eads garage on Spruce street Saturday. She was rushed to Mast hospital and then Eugene for further care. doctors reported her condition critical but hopeful mid Monday. The family has two other children Heidi 10 and Mike 8.

State Posse Ride Draws 260 Riders at Todd Lake

The annual state Posse ride of Mounted Sheriff's Posses brought about 260 participants to Todd Lake.
