About 24 519 000 board feet of timber will be offered across five rate tracts with bids opening at Swan Island Dragon and regional BLM offices. Appraisals total 9356 per thousand board feet and prospective buyers may obtain sale details from the Coos Bay post office.

The Bartles home was completely destroyed by a fire on Sunday morning after Mr and Mrs Bartles returned from the oven. They tried to douse the flames but the blaze spread rapidly before firefighters arrived from the Point and other departments. The loss was partly covered by insurance and valuables papers were lost. Mr Bartles runs a trucking business.
Athletics head Curt Beckham announced the school board approved a new trampoline device to aid both boys and girls in tumbling and balance. The equipment is hoped to uncover hidden abilities and boost overall gym program performance.
