Arago Girl Fatally Injured in Local Death Mystery
An 11 year old Arago girl Ginger Faught was found dead in a culvert near Arago. Police say she was strangled. State police arrested 15 year old Albert Lynn Olson of Arago, held in jail for continued arraignment. The victim was a sixth grader at Arago Elementary School.

Myrtle Point School District opened signups for a two week summer band program led by Mr. Les Simons. Classes run Monday to Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the High School band room for grades 5 through high school. Participants may join the Coos County Fair parade on Saturday August 17.
