Bloodmobile Rug Blood Drives For Local Blood Need

The Red Cross Bloodmobile visits Myrtle Point at Myrtle Crest gym on Monday August 5 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. to replace blood for Mrs. Bruce Sullivan after surgery. Minors may donate with guardian consent forms from the Myrtle Point Herald. If needed, 25 local volunteers, doctors and nurses will assist to meet a 75 pint quota.

Presbyterian Camp Myrtlewood Service At Joint Event

On Sunday August 4 at 11 00 a m the Presbyterian Church will hold a morning service at Camp Myrtlewood with the Bandon Presbyterian Church. No Sunday School that day. A pot luck dinner at 1 00 p m will follow in the outdoor chapel. Rev Dick Cochran of North Bend will serve as camp counselor.

Evening Shakespeare Seminars at Myrtle Point High School

Two free sessions led by H Gail Smith, Humanities teacher and Shakespeare Tour director, will cover the Elizabethan Period and Shakespeare plays in preparation for the Ashland festival. Sessions run Friday August 2 and Monday August 5 at 7 30 p m at Myrtle Point High School with lectures films and past festival experiences. Parents and adults are welcome to attend.
