Powers Group Forms Veterans Club In Powers Oregon
A meeting at McCulloch’s Fountain led to organizing a Veterans’ club open to all who served in the U S armed forces. Dennis Sherk chaired the gathering. Jim Kellead spoke on benefits and club plans, including building a clubhouse on two lots next to the Men’s Shelter on Main Street. A $260 donation from Peter Myen of Los Angeles was pledged to support the building.
