Myrtle Point Junior high and grammar school report most teaching posts filled with the exception of one fifth grade vacancy to replace Mrs Augusta Kilgore who resigned. E. J. Dietz, 77, longtime Pioneer area resident, died August 8 at his home in Carbondale California. He is survived by brother Gus Dietz of Myrtle Point and sister Mrs Jenale Cox of Oakland. Cox will return with him for a visit after the funeral.

High Mark Set By Powers Steers On Portland Market
An 1860-pound Hereford steer owned by Albert Powers sold last week at the North Portland Union stock yards for 19 cents a pound totaling 361 dollars. Powers also set a record by selling five steers averaging 1678 pounds for 81,506.30 dollars to Carsten's Packing Company of Tacoma, Washington.
