Two New Entertainment Features Added to Program by Fair Board

Coos County Fair Board meets at Anglers Cafe Myrtle Point with 100 percent attendance to approve a pioneer centennial themed show. The annual event runs August 13 to 16 featuring a sheep dog demonstration by Harold Knuths and trained dogs, with Howard Leatherman handling the sheep. Also planned is an amateur rodeo with two riders, a roper and a tying cowboy.

Myrtle Point Band to Play Concert in Coquille Next Monday

The Myrtle Point Community Band will perform at 8 15 p m next Monday in front of the Coquille Community building. Manager Spenny Ross says the event supports the Myrtle Point Centennial Queen contest. Plans Under Way for Big Fair Parade in Myrtle Point

Coos county plans a major fair parade in Myrtle Point on August 18 at 10:30 AM. Ann Roush, Chamber of Commerce parade chair, leads arrangements with the Myrtle Point Saddle Club. Districts across the county urged to participate with elaborate cash prizes for each division and pioneer day displays marking the county’s 100th anniversary.
