Greyhound Stage Burns Near Myrtle Point After Wreck
A Southern Pacific Greyhound bus from Roseburg overturned six miles from Myrtle Point and burned after leaving the highway on a soft shoulder while avoiding a wreck. About 40 passengers were aboard. all had been cleared before the fire. Many were treated for injuries at Myrtle Point, Coquille, and Marshfield hospitals, with five still in Mast hospital. Passengers include Miss Irma Coffield and Georgis Enright of Myrtle Point returning from Vancouver, Washington.

Broadbent post observes week with clean up and paint boost
The Broadbent group held a clean up week with donated paint from Mr and Mrs Robert James and interior work by an observer. Dorothy Druliner led a large turnout at a Friday meeting to plan recruiting booths for Aircraft Warning week and recognition classes to start August 6 at 8 o clock. One hundred hours were given by ten members who had 160 hours or more, and Mrs Druliner received commendation for her management. Ed Zeiner returned from Marion Kansas after an eight week visit.
