A large flower and plant show at the Myrtle hotel drew many visitors on Saturday July 29. Judges from nearby cities assessed 278 entries including Bermuda silico by Mrs A E Snyder large coleus by Mrs Sarah Barklow and babies breath bouquet by Mr Norris. The event highlighted Mrs Cooper’s rock garden and a Coquille Flower Lovers basket, with many first and second ribbon awards across numerous categories.

An all day session Thursday at Bill Bleacke home Prosser includes a potluck lunch. Unusual accident damages Buick sedan in logging area
A Coquille garage operator repairing Hal Baxter’s Buick drove it to the Jay Doak logging concession at China Camp on the Marrafield highway. While parked, a log rolled down and cracked the windshield and caved in one side. The older model incurred loss. Baxter plans converting it into a truck.
