Tragedy Hits H Gail Smith Family in Island Plane Crash
News from Bridge reports Mrs. Glenn Smith and her 4 year old daughter Summer died in a plane crash near Prince of Wales after a stop at Dweyville. Only one passenger survived. Mrs Smith had been en route from Beranol Island to Ketchikan for a dental appointment. Funeral arrangements to be made in Myrtle Point after arrival of her son Glenn.

Pvt John F Franzen received a proficiency trophy at Fort Lewis graduation exercises April 18 among 1100 graduates.
