State FFA Holds Oregon Convention April 25 to May 1

Oregon Future Farmers of America will conduct its annual state convention at Oregon State College April 29 to May 1. Delegates from 43 Smith Hughes agriculture departments, 400 FFA members, granges, farmers unions and colleges will attend. The event includes parliamentary procedure contests, a state association business meeting, a banquet, and various contests for all ages.

Crosby Bridge Rebuild Near Brevelford Delays Road Traffic

The Crosby bridge over the east fork of the Coguille River near Brevelford will be rebuilt over the next three weeks on Miailey Road. No care will be allowed to pass and pedestrians are warned crossing on foot is at their own risk. Work proceeds steadily amid heavy rains and the project costs about $4000.

Marriage Licenses Noted for Allegany Residents

Allege Gould and Evelyn Weaver both of Allegany obtained a license Wednesday and were married by Rev J Cotll at the church. Licenses were granted April 17 to Henry Winteld Fellows and Sylvia Leneve of Handen, Oscar Mintonyve of Coquilleated Pocline Dathern Pucket of Maral field, and April 19 to Lifford Peek and Crater Doe of Allegany.

Lions Club District Meet Draws Members and Guests

Skeleton Found This Morning At Broadbent

Former Resident Dies At Canby in 1918

The community mourns Car F E Pp Schmitt a former Myrtle Point grocer who died near Canby on a Monday in April 1918 after lingering from injuries from a March attack. Born January 1883 in Atchison Kansas, he moved to Oregon in 1910 settling at Creewell, married to M rs Roberta, sister of EOC Roberta and ooJ) Roberts of Myrtle Point. He was active in the Lions Club and lived in Myrtle Point before moving to Canby.

Coos County Music Festival in Coquille Saturday

The third annual Coos County Music Festival will be held in the community building at Coquille this Saturday April 24 at 1 30 pm.
