Ethel Sperry Heavenly daughter of Mr and Mrs John T Sperry died at home near Myrtle Point after spinal meningitis. Born October 8 1915 in Yale Oregon she spent all school days in Myrtle Point. She leaves parents one sister Mrs Lyle Barker two brothers Bud and Jack and many relatives. Funeral Friday at 2 from Schroeder chapel Rev Jacob B Moomaw presiding. Burial in Norway Cemetery.

Legion Sponsors Junior Ball League at Myrtle Point
At American Legion Post No 38 meeting the body voted to sponsor a 17 or under baseball team for Myrtle Point to compete in county eliminations and perhaps state and national plays with winners eventually reaching the World Series. Harry Dement was named coach. the post will supply balls and transportation. The post also planned Memorial Day observances including graves cleanup on May 19 with a basket dinner in Norway and a memorial service on May 30 with flags and flowers on veterans' graves.

Log foreman dies instantly in Chaney camp accident
Preston Marolf aged 44, a Tillamook County pioneer family member, was killed when a tree fell on him at Yellow Creek Chaney logging camp. He was reclining against the haul-back when the tree shifted, limb piercing his spinal column and crushing a hip. Survived by wife and two daughters, body shipped to Tillamook for burial with services arranged by Elton Schroeder.
