He had lived in Myrtle Point since 1908 after completing a world tour. Survived locally by his wife. other survivors are not listed. Funeral to be held at the Myrtle Point chapel Saturday at 2 pm.

Fire Hits Myrtle Point Herald Office in Early Morning Blaze
Tuesday morning a blaze at the Myrtle Point Herald office damaged the front of the building and a back area amid newsprint. Firefighters Mitch Myers and Lyle Pierce led the effort, with Bob Parsons injured slightly. the cause is believed to be accidental combustion near a furnace. Insurance covers the damage, and press time remained on schedule.

Steven Goddard seven and son of Mr and Mrs G B Goddard narrowly escaped death Friday as a burning trash blaze at the rear of the elementary school exploded when he tossed a bottle of turpentine into flame.
