Hay Crops and Grass Silage Value Highlighted by Expert

Agricultural engineer M G Hubert stresses that grass silage yields about 12 percent more feed value than field cured hay and stores well for long periods. Western Oregon’s Willamette valley and coast districts grow vast hay land but weather often reduces quality. Silage allows storage with less fire risk and can act as a buffer against crop failures. The article also notes Safeway is installing twelve new display tables to improve store appearance.
