The Myrtle Point Lions club will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt for children 10 and under at the fair grounds next Sunday afternoon at 1 00 o clock. Nephew of Mrs Sempert Receives Bronze Star
World War II veteran Lindley, a Spokane postal clerk and member of the 162nd Infantry Oregon National Guard, was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious achievement in ground operations against Japan during a 1943 New Guinea action, the medal arriving unannounced 14 years after the war. He is a nephew of Mrs Ed Sempert and grew up in Myrtle Point.

Frank Conn Wins First In Dist Speech Contest at Roseburg
Frank Conn a senior at the high school won first place in the district radio speech contest held in Roseburg last Saturday. The district includes Coos Douglas and Douglas counties. Conn will compete against other district winners at a state contest at the University of Oregon next month. Eleanor and Eloise Brock were fellow contestants from Myrtle Point.
