William S Winsor Dies at North Bend Pioneer Leader
William S Winsor father of C S Winsor of Bank of Oregon North Bend died at Mercy hospital after a sudden illness. He crossed the plains in the 1860s and fought in the Rogue River conflicts. He introduced White Cedar to local commerce naming it Port Orford cedar. Burial followed in Curry County beside his wife who died in 1898.

Coquille Youths Held for Sensational Hold Up
Coos county grand jury delayed final report due to a sensational hold up and assault near Coquille Monday night. Ted Tozier and Carman Saunders were found guilty and received an indeterminate sentence of three to fifteen years. The victim, Isaac Valentine, a railroad laborer, said to have been drinking, was robbed after being lured onto the county road. Valentine reported the crime, and investigators recovered part of the money.
