Barn Fire Destroys Stauff Estate Dairy House Near Arago
A large dairy barn on John Root’s Stauff estate near Arago burned last Saturday morning. The blaze started in grain sheaves in a lean-to and spread across the 60 by 90 foot barn with 24 foot posts, destroying 80 tons of feed and 80 tons of ensilage. Albert and E. Jers of Norway owned the engine and ensilage cutter. several men suffered burns while removing machinery. Root faces about 2000 dollars in losses, including eight fat hogs.

Myrtle Club Seeks 80 Members As Fee Reduced
