Death of Francis H. Clarke in Marshfield
Francis H. Clarke died suddenly after illness began in Portland while en route to Philadelphia for business. A Minneapolis import and former lawyer, Clarke moved to Coos Bay five years ago and led the Coos Bay Boise line efforts. He was about 54, survived by Mrs. Clarke and five children. remains to be brought to Coos Bay for interment.

Passed Away Near Long Creek
Ruby Caldwell died this morning at Whiskey Flat about twelve miles east after a long illness of tuberculosis. Born July 13, 1893 in Coos County, she was the second daughter of Mrs. Christina Caldwell and spent most of her life in the valley. She was a Methodist and will be buried Friday afternoon September 1 in Long Creek cemetery.
