Funeral Service For Appendicitis Victim Held

May he underwent an operation for appendicitis from which he never fully recovered. Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church in this city at 1.00 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon, September 1, Rev J F Vernon conducting the services.

Dry spell ends as Myrtle Point greets heavy rain

Oregon ends a long drought with heavy showers in Myrtle Point last Sunday. Weather brought 14 to 2 inches of rain over the period, breaking a sixty nine to seventy day dry spell, followed by mild fall conditions and eased travel discomfort.

Myrtle Point Schools Open 1911 15 Term

The Myrtle Point City Schools began the 1911 12 term last Tuesday in both the main building and the new grammar school. Enrollment is strong for opening day, with about two hundred expected total. The staff includes Superintendent L W Wimberly and teachers Mrs Gamble Miss De Vore Miss Kent Miss Ehrenbuh Miss McCracken Miss Davidson Mrs Whitaker and Daisy Short with Prof A Davidson in music.
