December 15 and 16 meetings will discuss patrol and fire fighting methods with close cooperation plans for 1914. Coos County Valuations Seen Lowered by Local Board
The Coos county local board of equalization cut timber land values by 5 to 20 percent reducing assessed figures from 22 641 000 to about 21 000 000. The State Board of Equalization will announce valuations for railroad telephone and telegraph properties within days. The State Tax Commission likely will assess mentioned corporations between 300 000 and 400 000, bringing total near 21 400 000.

Haskins Trades Horses at Salem Fair
B H Haskins returned Monday from Salem where he attended the state fair. He told Enterprise man he traded horses outside the fair swapping his Shire stallion Lord Cruzon for another Shire. The new horse Alexandria weighs and builds almost identically to Lord Cruzon.

Flooding Hits Coquille River Regions and Waterfront Gear
Heavy Monday and Tuesday rains raised river levels on the South and North forks of the Coquille. At seven miles above town the Willet Burr gravel operation saw eleven feet rise submerging a steam shovel while trains were removed. The North Fork carried swift current for years and more driftwood damaged the Myrtle Point mills boom. steamers Myrtle and Dora and a government dredger broke from moorings and grounded on the jetty. Men freed vessels overnight. Myrtle completed a regular trip, Dora held for repairs.

City Council approves ordinances banning glass and Sunday shooting galleries
