Jas Pearson, longtime Myrtle Point resident, died after an abdominal obstruction operation in Marshfield hospital. He was 78. Arrangements say funeral Tuesday with Rev Batklow officiating. He leaves two sons in California and a step-daughter Mrs Wm Weekly of Gravel Ford.

Minard's Mill Leased by M M Young of Seattle
M M Young of Seattle has leased Minard's mill 14 miles up the east fork and will operate it at once. The water powered mill processes about 8000 daily now with plans to reach 15000. He will run a general custom business serving the local lumber trade. Memorial Day observances are set by the G A R Myrtle Point with a sermon at the Latter Day Saints church on Sunday the 29th and civic groups to join in honoring the nation's dead.
