Voters Nominate Council Candidates At Myrtle Club Caucus

About forty voters attended the Myrtle Club room caucus with Mayor L A Roberts presiding and E A Dodge as secretary. Nominations for four council seats to replace W J Strong and W Lundy were led by T D Guerin 28 votes, W J Strong 26, H A Schroeder 11, W C Fensler 16, S Breuer 5, selecting the top four for ballots on April 6. Incumbents E A Dodge and J M Arrington were nominated for recorder and treasurer. R A Annin moved to thank W E Lundy for his year of service, a motion carried unanimously.

All Oregon Good Roads Day planned by Ad Club

The Portland Ad Club executive board planned All-Oregon Good Roads Day by governor proclamation with 100000 Oregon men to work roads and women to prepare camp dinners. Skeleton Found on Barklow Ranch Linked to Old Disappearance

A skeleton unearthed on Barklow Ranch near a newly dug foundation is believed to be a man buried decades ago. The skull shows a fracture and a rusty razor and bone-handled knife were found in the shallow grave. Local recollections tie the remains to Mike Madigan, a miner who vanished about 35 years earlier, with suspicions of foul play.

A field report notes exceptionally tall grass and early blooming mustard. Trees are leafing rapidly and rust trees are flowering. I N Wilson sent air-vegetation samples last Friday from Stringtown, including a fern stalk 36 inches tall and a wild gourd vine growing 56 inches this season.
