Tragic Tree Collapse Kills 17 Year Old Clifford Laird

Corvallis June 26 Many bean growers in the Willamette Valley and western Oregon are contracting the sale of their 1917 crop on a commission basis. Dr Hector Macpherson head of rural economics at the Agricultural College warns the practice is one sided and landless of business sense. He says no guarantee of higher prices and much of the market price goes to selling agencies. He urges growers to market their beans themselves.
