New District Director Elected and School Report Shared
The annual meeting elected Gip of the school inn ds Whitaker as district director for a three year term, succeeding S. S. Reed who moved away. L. A. Roberts was re elected district clerk. The clerk’s report shows strong finances with total receipts of 6269.79 and expenditures of 4010.37 leaving 2259.42, including 1000 toward old debt reducing district debt to 3000. A marriage at the M E church linked Lillie Way and Paul Sterling with a reception, party travels to Coquille, and Sterling’s railroad role noted. Additionally a land filing by Toward Ru Doty of Myrtle Point seeks timber land confirmation under a mineral claim with witnesses named and a notice to file adverse claims by August 12 1908.
