Myrtle Point high school drama earns audience applause

The Myrtle Point High School presented a three act English drama Peggy and My Wild Irish Rose at the Unique theatre last Saturday drawing a large audience. Cast members from the school previously appeared in other productions and received enthusiastic applause for their confident performances.

Fraud charge in railroad deal reported by San Francisco Bulletin

W A Coen of Berkeley swore out a complaint before Judge Deasy alleging Henry KE Lee obtained money by false pretenses. The claim states Lee claimed McArthur Brothers of New York contracted to build the Oregon Eastern and Donnn Railway, using the supposed contract to solicit funds.

The record states Lee was to receive 13750 dollars with Coen having advanced 500 dollars on this representation and the railroad has not yet been built.

Worst storm on Pacific coast devastates coast in 1880s

Old residents report the Sunday night to Monday storm as the worst since the early eighties. Winds 90 to 110 mph knocked down signs roofs and a large Myrtle tree. The Elizabeth steamer was towed to San Francisco after losing her propeller. Damage included a hog house roof blown off a South Fork ranch and damaged electric lines. one horse died in a wood shed collapse.

High School Team Loses To Coquille In Close Battle

Myrtle Point and Coquille met in a hard fought contest with Coquille claiming the win through stronger teamwork. Miller led Myrtle Point with multiple field goals while Leslie Kern and Oerding paced Coquille with several three and four point efforts.

Musicale at Barklow Residence by Perkins and Greene

A musicale at Mr and Mrs Wilbur Barklow last Thursday evening featured Flentye Perkins and Lola Greene. The program impressed guests with variety and high standard pieces. Refreshments followed. attendees included Lola Greene Nellie Barton Flentge Perkins and others.
