Protracted protest over last Friday basketball game
Last Friday at the Oaks Pavilion two six man teams played a burlesque style basketball while a three inning school baseball game occurred earlier. Myrtle Point defeated Bandon 21 to 13 at halftime and 33 to 13 in the second half. Protest over Harry Miller's eligibility was filed and to be decided by Myrtle Point management and Prof. Howard at Coquille.

Six Die in Marshfield Rooming House Fire
Marshfield February 17 six residents of the Craig rooming house owned by the C A Smith Company are dead after an early morning blaze. The victims are Louis Klowonski S E Lewis W S Glover William Ward Louis Pepas and A Craig father of the keeper. Seven others were injured and taken to Mercy hospital North Bend where they are reported to be recovering. The fire, likely sparked by a cigarette, caused a total loss of the building.
