A writer new to the county sees a practical demonstration of fine berries as J M Arrington brings a sample of Mammoth blackberries grown at his home in the city. Serious auto wreck on Roseburg Myrtle Point road claims life
A seven passenger Packard driven by Pierce skidded off the edge of the road near the Will Carlile place at about 9 30 Wednesday evening. Mrs Stevenson of Kansas was killed and Miss Jones of Coquille severely injured while W R Courtwright and family escaped with minor bruises. Pierce was unhurt but pinned in the vehicle. The accident blocked the road four miles from Roseburg as doctors and neighbors aided, and Mrs Stevenson’s body was sent to Lewell undertakers for shipment to Kansas.
