Grange Leader to Speak on Good Roads at Astoria

Oregon Grange master C. E. Spence will address the Oregon Development League convention in Astoria on Good Roads. The speech will push Grange and Farmers' Union road plans, opposing urban advocates, with an initiative bill likely to be submitted. Hunters Reported Pinched At Sevenmile Camp

Port Orford Tribune reports Game Warden Morgan arrested five Bandon citizens at Sevenmile on Aug 4. Court findings in Coquille before Judge Holden reveal a spotted fawn carcass near the camp, two church trustees and a minister among the group, a green hide recovered, and two fawns killed despite a five day bear hunting claim. Dogs traveled with the party. one boy allegedly killed a fawn but skin remains unexplained.

O Brien Affirms Willamette Pacific Rail Plan at Eugene Banquet

Vice President J P O Brien of the Southern Pacific told Eugene's Commercial Club last week that the Willamette Pacific line will be built to the coast and rapidly developed. He cited six field engineers and a right of way man, predicted Eugene's population will double in a decade, and dismissed local doubters who bet against the project.

New Gasoline Schooner Tillamook Arrives for First Voyage
