Plans for a Coquille Valley picnic, auto tours, and parades were set with 500 visitors expected, and local Grange and Farmers Union support for a Dixon Grove dinner. In Gaston Oregon on August 11 the loganberry industry boosts Washington County's growth. F. J. Williams near Hillsboro runs a large steam canning plant with strong demand for the canned product. C. B. Buchanan of Cornelius also grows loganberries. Picking near Gaston at the Holt and Carman yards ends, and the Holt plant can bottle up to 100 gallons daily.
