Ed C. Greene, 63, longtime Eckley area pioneer, died at a Toppenish hospital of heart failure. Survived by three children in Alaska and Vancouver BC. He owned the Deer Park ranch in Southern Coos and Northern Curry counties, later sold to the Bigelow/C. A. Smith Timber Co.

Nystrom Sells Myrtle Point Hotel

Hen Keeps Laying Odd Double Yolk Egg Mystery
Mrs E P Adams of the southwest part of town reports her Buff Orpington hen, while caring for chicks, laid two normal eggs one day, then a large double yolk egg measuring 63 by 74 inches, and the next day produced two ordinary eggs.

Coos Grand Jury Reports Indictments in North Bend Cases
The Coos County grand jury in Coquille issued its first report listing Wm. Edmunds for forgery in Marshfield with arraignment tomorrow, Joseph Thomas for larceny of Dr. Watson's overcoat in North Bend, and Robert Lillequist charged with pointing a gun at Carl Olson in North Bend. Lillequist pleaded guilty and was fined $50. Clarence Lewis, a North Bend half breed Indian, pleaded guilty to robbing meat markets. Judge Coke sentenced him to one year and parole on county limits with monthly reports and abstinence from alcohol. Several new indictments are anticipated before the grand jury concludes its work.

Good Roads Movement Gains Momentum in Lane County
Lane County officials consider a concrete road test using a four to five inch concrete layer with a one to one and a half inch bituminous asphalt overlay.
