Wilton Days parade marks start of weekend events
Wilton American Legion Post sponsors Wilton Days weekend with a Friday parade at 6 30 p m and a carnival first day. Tickets for a $500 prize pool grant honorary Legionnaire status for two days, plus a Friday night dance. Saturday features Children’s Day with rides, a 6 30 p m prize drawing offering a grand prize of 100 and 43 prizes total. Parade includes Wilton High Band Legion Drum and Bugle Corps and pompon girls. Wilton church schedules announced for several houses of worship
Wilton area churches release a set of summer schedules. United Church of Christ holds Sunday school at 9 30 and worship at 10 45 with Holy Communion including an outdoor service June 29 at West Liberty Park followed by a basket dinner. Other churches list weekly worship times, school hours, and special events through July including a wedding at Presbyterian church on June 21 and various fellowship meetings.

Wilton businessmen hospitalized after motorcycle crash
Carl Sandico, partner of The Pot Shop in Wilton, is hospitalized at St. Joseph Hospital in Highland, Ireland with injuries from a motorcycle accident. He will be in the hospital for several weeks. His wife Lorna, a former Wilton kindergarten teacher, is staying with him. Karl Christiansen, the other partner, is mentioned in connection with the incident.

Pot Shop member hospitalized after May four car crash
In May, a member of The Pot Shop was hospitalized at St. Cloud Minnesota after a four car collision. His family accompanied him but has since returned home. He receives physical therapy for a hip and knee injury and is to remain at St. Cloud Hospital for several more days. The Sahara wind created high static electricity and strong dust storms with humidity at five percent.
