Grain dryer explosion tears walls at Grain Processing Co
An explosion in a four story dryer house at Grain Processing Company 1600 Oregon I blew out two walls and damaged a grain dryer. No one was injured. A three inch gas main hole opened. Firefighters fought the blaze about an hour and gas flow was shut off. Additional fires nearby and two other calls were logged. One worker suffered burns at Doane Products Co. and was hospitalized.

Three arrests in Muscatine incident at Pizza Queen
Police arrested Jerry Hindbaugh 18 and Donald Phelps 20 for disturbing the peace after an incident Monday night at Pizza Queen 318 E Ward St. A 16-year-old girl was also arrested and released to parents for juvenile authorities. Hindbaugh and Phelps received summonses. In a separate case Elmer Todd 43 was charged with criminal trespass at 110 Madison St and resisting arrest after resisting apprehension. Todd posted bonds. Monday police also logged one break in five thefts and two crashes with multiple victims named in theft reports and vehicle thefts.
