Multiple arrests follow weekend scuffles and incidents in Muscatine
Ricky D. Morgan, 19, faces assault and battery and resisting arrest charges after allegedly striking his wife Helen and then resisting officers at Muscatine General Hospital. A third charge of disturbing the peace relates to the hospital incident. Scott E. Oak, 19, of Reynolds, Illinois, was arrested for reckless driving in the 700 block of East Second Street and is due in Muscatine County Associate District Court. James Parris, 21, Dorchester, Massachusetts, was charged with disturbing the peace after persistently soliciting, despite warnings. Five juveniles were arrested, including two runaways from Keithsburg and Muscatine. Community library programs and theater activities for children are announced for the coming week, including Grease Paint Theater auditions and a summer reading drive. An underage Muscatine boy was cited for curfew violation and released to his mother pending juvenile action. Additional incidents include a break-in at Lincoln Elementary, thefts from a jewelry store and a pool locker, and two accidents with minor injuries reported in Muscatine. The annual Employees’ Recognition Dinner for Muscatine Power and Water is set for June at the Holiday Inn with notable honorees and a dramatics workshop for children planned.
