Funeral services for Ruth P. Billings 72 were held after she was killed in a two car crash at Donnelly Street and U S 441. Olive Lee 29 was injured as other occupants in the Braswell vehicle included Virginia Braswell unknown daughter Bonita 4 and Joyce Hales 17 all treated at Waterman Memorial Hospital Orlando and Eustis. Investigators say Billings pulled onto the highway from Donnelly Street into the Braswell wagon. Witnesses sought by Florida Highway Patrol in Tavares. Strickler assisted by Mount Dora Police Chief Huett and others. Mrs. Billings a Mount Dora resident formerly of Ardsley New York belonged to Episcopal Church.

Eustis Kiwanis Club will host Civil Air Patrol veteran Leighton Baker and CAP Group 20 Commander 1/Lt. Betty Neiford on September 30 at the American Legion Building in Eustis. The CAP, chartered by Congress, promotes aviation and operates a cadet program teaching character, courtesy, and leadership with peacetime missions like search and rescue, a national radio network, cadets, and mobilization preparation.

Sam Shaw extinguished a small garage apartment fire at 409 N Grandview St Monday night. Fire department arrived after a 10 40 p m call and credited Shaw with stopping the blaze before they reached the scene. The electrical wiring caused the fire which caused little damage.
