Medical Associates Plans Large Nursing Home in Mount Dora
Medical Associates of Atlanta will request a building permit this week to construct a 100 plus bed nursing home on a 20 acre tract at Eudora Road near Golden Triangle Shopping Center. The project costs about 750000 with local builders to be used and completion expected in six to seven months for 24 hour care and some welfare patients.

In Mount Dora the absence of golf spurred citizens to form the Mount Dora Golf Assn Inc. The city leased a 99 year tract on Highway 441, funded occasional maintenance, and supported the venture with grants. Roy Christopher led legal work. William Wadsworth funded a clubhouse and lockers. By December 1946 the golf club opened as a major outdoor activity with 80 acres, later expanding to ninths holes and a full club with pro Jameson, weekly tournaments, Ladies Day, and ongoing social events.

Chamber Orders Slide Programs For Tourism Push
