Baptist Church Revival Services Begin October 27

The Baptist church announces a Bible school at 9:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship, training union at 6:15 p.m., evening worship at 7:30 p.m., midweek service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, and choir rehearsal Saturday. Community Church Sees Growth and Upcoming Charity Plans

The Sunday service drew many parishioners and welcomed new residents. Mrs. Robert N. White continues to substitute on organ until a new organist is found. Florida Congregational churches led the nation in last year’s per capita giving through War Victims and Reconstruction, with the local church contributing. New residents buy home on Lake Dora

Scout Troop 19 Outing At Rock Springs And Hikes

Fifteen members of Scout Troop 19 spent Sunday at Rock Springs with swimming games and tests. Several scouts completed or advanced in first and second class requirements including axemanship cooking compass pace tracking and fire building. Garden Club Organizes First Meeting in Mount Ora

The Garden Club of Mount Ora, a division of the Woman's Club, held its inaugural meeting October 10 at the Community Building. Mrs. A. C. Bigelow was elected chairman and Mrs. Mary A. Ross vice chairman with Miss Mary C. Marshall as secretary. The club will meet the second Thursday of each month at 2 30 p.m. Future topics include flower arrangement soil study and buds in the garden. Hostesses were Mrs. T. M. Kramer and Mrs. James A. Nelson. A garden show is planned for early spring and all interested are urged to attend the next meeting.

Mrs Lane Suffers Fractured Ankle on Trip

Mrs Sidney H Lane remains at Fort Myers with son in law James Spooner and daughter after a fall at the Spooner summer home in Balsam North Carolina. Miss Sewell Home and Recovering from Injury

Committee Leases Old Ice Plant For Local Youth Center

The Youth Center committee has leased the old ice plant on Charles street for a year or longer and is preparing it for community use. Plans for a new building have been abandoned due to costs, and the former plant will serve indefinitely. The site is being cleaned and renovated for young people, with Fletcher Crane as chairman.
