Ames Hurt In Odd Accident In DeLand
Mr. Chester C. Ames of J. J. West Realty Company was seriously injured Monday afternoon in DeLand while en route from a Illinois summer to here. He suffered six fractured ribs and a facial cut. doctors at DeLand Memorial Hospital say his condition is painful but not life threatening. The accident occurred when a bee flew into his car and he swerved to avoid it.

Fine Avocados Grown by Frank Drake on Seventh Avenue
Frank Drake cultivated two large avocado trees at his home on Seventh Avenue at Alexander Street. After severe freezing years ago he pruned them back, and they recovered to full size bearing fruit this year. One tree produced especially fine fruit weighing two to two and a half pounds with smooth skin and rich flavor.

Collision injures several in Eustis car crash
S. S. Sadler Jr escaped with slight injuries after a two car collision in Eustis Saturday night. Allan L. Poucher of Wauchula Miss Reddick and Miss Virginia Hargis of Umatilla suffered multiple injuries. Poucher fractured pelvis and mild brain concussion while Miss Hargis fractured back and Miss Reddick dislocated elbow and fractured ribs. All were taken to Lake County Medical Center and Poucher to University infirmary this week. The Sadler car overturned after being struck broadside by a vehicle driven by James LaRoe of Eustis.
