County approves health unit with $5400 plan
Lake County Commissioners voted Tuesday to establish a county health unit at a county cost of 5400, pending borrow approval from Comptroller J M Lee. The 1936 budget cannot be touched, so funds would come from the 1938 budget and be repaid if authorized. State and Federal matching funds would double the appropriation. Dr S C Colley of Mount Dora and Tavares and Dodge Taylor and W S Mare of Howey in the Hills spoke for petitioners backing the unit which aims at preventive care.
