Florida Citrus Industry Estimated At 80 Million Year
The 1936-37 Florida citrus crop was worth over 80 million dollars to the state, with about 45 million returned to growers. Florida packed over seven million boxes and saw generally improved prices despite large crops and competition from Texas. Mrs D B Spencer Dies After Long Illness
Mrs May Richards Spencer widow of Rev D B Spencer died Tuesday just after midnight at age 81 in Mount Dora Florida. Born August 12 1856 in Hinckley Ohio she graduated Oberlin with David B Spencer whom she married December 18 1883 in Elyria Ohio. The couple served churches across Illinois Michigan and Iowa before moving to River Falls Wisconsin then Mount Dora in 1917 where he became pastor. She endured thirty years of invalidism and leaves husband son Dr Paul R Spencer and granddaughter Pomona Davidson. Burial Thursday at 4 PM in Forest Cemetery Mount Dora with graveside service.
