The Pilot Doll, a wedding finery clad figure that drew crowds at Fifth and Donnelly, has moved to Tavares. H. R. Cloud of Minute Maid and Dan Wright of the Florida Orange Marketers described a grower control plan aimed at stabilizing prices and limiting spot marketing. The group, formed last July with 300 grower members, seeks to channel fruit through Minute Maid plants with a pooling system to ensure fair returns, while defending against price cutting by lesser-known concentrates and off-brand rivals.
