Old Time Revival at Church of God on Liberty Street

Revival services are held at the Church of God on Liberty Street near the ball park every evening at 7 30. Sunday services follow the usual schedule with Sunday School at 10 00 morning service at 11 and night service at 7 30, with prayer services on other nights at 7 30.

The 1938 Red Cross Roll Call ends on Thanksgiving while the Christmas Seal Sale opens to avoid overlap. Local workers are urged to stop soliciting after Wednesday and can submit missed memberships to designated coordinators. Mount Dora exceeded its 150 member quota. Montverde led county totals and Eustis reported over 200 members with more to come.

Florida postal workers prepare to deliver 185000 letters as Christmas Seals go on sale. The program honors Einar Holboell, who proposed adding an extra stamp to raise funds for tuberculosis work. Funds support exams, health education, tuberculin testing in schools, and relief for patients.

An itinerant service based in Leesburg will handle jobless insurance claims in Mount Dora. Wen dell C. Heaton, Florida Industrial Commission chairman, announced weekly claim calls from the Leesburg office. Other towns to be served include Clermont Howey Tavares Eustis and Umatilla.

Community Church Ladies Aid Bazaar Opens November 30

The annual bazaar of the Ladies Aid Society at Community Church will be held in the church parlors on Wednesday afternoon November 30 at 2 30. Mrs Eckis Banks and Rogers lead apron and fancy goods with many items. Food table by Morley Seagraves and Lewis offers home cooked dishes. E D Parker with Ingram runs the mystery table. Mount Dora extends a hearty welcome to tourist friends as local bowling clubs faced off in matches between Mount Dora and Orlando teams.
