Mount Dora residents are urged to fund the local quota for the Children’s Home Society. About 160 of 250 dollars has been raised. organizers hope to raise the remaining 90. Donations go to J. Auto Tags On Sale Today In Florida

The 1939 Florida Auto Tags go on sale December 1st through the Lake County Tax Collector in Tavares. Last year 8060 tags were sold. A 1938 registration card is required and a Florida Title Certificate may be needed if the certificate number does not appear on the card. Proceeds fund school teacher salaries. Buy early with last year’s card and title.

Mount Dora Red Cross Enrolls 200 Plus in Roll Call

Over 200 enrollments reported for the Mount Dora Branch of the American Red Cross, with 8 from Sorrento and Lake Jem included. Local members contribute $5 or $1 with 50 cents kept for local work, while National sends 50 cents per member for relief. First National to Pay Christmas Club Checks

George J. White president of the First National Bank of Mount Dora was re-elected by member banks in Group 3 as a Class A director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta for a three year term starting January 1, 1939. The election occurred two weeks ago but White kept quiet about the honor.

The first Mount Dora Havana Cruise sails from Tampa last Sunday and returns Saturday. More than twenty residents plan the next trip likely at the end of February or early March.

Doctors Marsh and Devorsak Return To Prepare Season

Lakeside Inn announces its opening in Mount Dora on Friday December second. The Lake County Real Estate Board will hold its monthly meeting at the Villa Dora Hotel in Mount Dora on December 1 at 7 00 PM.
