Angora Rabbits Boost Wool Trade From Candia Farm
Mrs. Vera Messier of Candia New Hampshire raises about 300 White Angora rabbits. The Luxor strain yields 12 to 16 ounces of wool annually per adult. She spins the wool and knits sweaters hats and mittens sold at about 175 per half ounce with sweaters at 50 or more. Angora wool is warm light flameproof and used in war flying suits.

Pirate Gold Dug Up in Massachusetts
Edward Snow, a history writer, unearthed a two year long treasure on Nauset Beach valued at about $2000. The copper chest held eight pieces of eight gold sovereigns doubloons and French and Spanish coins. The find ties to a 19th century lighthouse keeper known as King of Calf Island and a coded 1690 Italian book used to locate the trove.
