A wrapper tobacco hand grown in Lake County in 1897 by W. C. Butts is shown in the Topic window. Experts say it is the finest tobacco of its kind they have seen and it remains undamaged after more than four decades of storage. Butts notes yields of about 800 pounds per acre and values between $1.00 and $1.20 per pound.

The annual Red Cross Roll Call runs from the end of this week through Armistice Day to Thanksgiving. Miss Margaret Lewis is Roll Call chairman. Memberships include Annual one dollar Contributing five dollars Sustaining ten dollars and Supporting twenty five. Half of each dues goes to national headquarters in Washington, ten cents to Lake County Chapter and the rest to the local treasury for home relief work. Mount Dora pity supports disaster relief with prior year totals and recent gifts. Dues and contributions are used only for relief, not salaries.
