Hope fades on Dora Plymouth road contract bid
A 9 mile eight inch concrete road linking Mount Dora and Plymouth was rejected by the Bureau of Public Roads. The winning bid of 725 004 was about 20 percent above the engineers estimate as Florida contractors face busy work and prefer high bids. The project would have served as a key access road from Orlando and Camp Blanding toward Valdosta and Atlanta, with the Mount Dora to Plymouth segment the only poor section.
