Fourteen Lakes and Hills Garden Club members join 1 150 Florida delegates at the 47th annual Florida Federation of Garden Clubs Inc. convention held May 21 24 at Walt Disney World. New state officers were installed by Mrs Vernon L Conner with 23 life memberships announced boosting Florida s standing.

Mount Dora BPW Dinner Highlights Skit By "Tater" Sisters
The Mount Dora Business and Professional Women's Club held a May 23 dinner meeting at the Community Building. Newly installed President Wallace Cox aims to involve all members in club activities this year. Members enjoyed a skit by the "tater" sisters and cousin "Miss Partissie Pater" directed by "Commentator." Slides showed past activities and changing styles. State convention is set for June 7-10 at Cocoa Beach.

Pilot Club installs new set of officers
The Pilot Club held a candle lighting ceremony as new officers were introduced. Mrs. Eula B. Hudson served as initial installing officer and read duties for each role. New officers include First Vice President Jean DeVoe, Second Vice President Hudson, Recording Secretary Louise Caldwell, Corresponding Secretary Violet Whitehead, and Treasurer Helen Kurras. Directors for one year are Gladys Fuller Virginia Douglas and Elizabeth Willis. two year terms go to Elliott Seabrook and Kathleen Sweeney. Mrs. Fuller received the President's pin from Miss Logas who then presented the Past President's pin to Mrs. Fuller. A memorial tribute honored charter member Mrs. Selma Pearce.
